Who is in the background photo?
The Canoe Ladies are a self-organized group of 50 local women who fish daily to provide food and economic security to their families in Cocalito, a small fishing village in the Garifuna municipality of Iriona, Honduras.
Rare’s global coastal fisheries program, Fish Forever, works closely with the communities of Santa Fe, Iriona, and others across Honduras’s north shore to protect, restore, and manage the coastal waters and habitats on which they depend.
